Ellie & Tom

Ellie picked her wedding gown at Belle et Blanc Bridal Boutique. She choose the beautiful Regina gown. Ellie found Belle et Blanc by looking at a lot of bridal blogs as well as finding places with good Google reviews on Sydney Road – the one stop shop for everything bridal! Her mum flew over from New Zealand especially for the weekend to do a day of wedding dress shopping, which was so special for her.
We asked Ellie how she felt in the gown and her response was: “One of my friends said the dress was very ‘Ellie Burton, but bridal edition’ which is the perfect summary of how I felt. The dress felt very elegant, timeless and despite being what felt like ‘a big dress’, had such an element of ‘me’ that I felt grounded, super comfortable and so beautiful on the day.”

Ellie & Tom met working in hospitality in London, moved to Melbourne together and now own a pub together in North Melbourne called The Courthouse Hotel! They were together for six years before Tom proposed. Ellie says “His proposal was very unassuming; we always take turns in planning ‘surprise date days’ as time off together can be quite rare at times, so we make the most of it. Rusty had planned the day and told me to wear something sporty and that we would be going for a drive. He took me to the 1,000 Steps, Kokoda Track Memorial Walk. It was a very hot day in December and he was in a particularly good mood so I should’ve cottoned on that something was going on! On the way up, as we were passing groups of people, everyone was really friendly and chatty, little did I know it was because Rusty was showing them the ring box in his pocket! We got to the top, super hot and puffed and found a nice quiet spot in the shade where he got down on one knee. After excitedly calling all of our family, we stopped off at our friend’s house on the way home who had champagne waiting and toasted to the exciting news. A surprise date day for the books”
