Katherine & Josh
Katherine & Josh tied the knot on 2nd April 2021 after a reschedule on 10 April 2020 due to covid. They got married at the cosmopolitan Bells Hotel in South Melbourne. They had the ceremony and reception at the Topiary Room and they were also able to enjoy the scenic rooftop terrace overlooking breathtaking city views of Melbourne’s skyline.
Katherine & Josh did the proposal their own way. Katherine tells us, “We had been together for 11 years. It was something we wanted to do and we spoke about it. We both wanted to ask each other. So we set a date and Josh could ask me by then or I would ask him after. The date had nearly lapsed and I was getting excited to buy us both a ring and ask him. Instead, he bought me a ring and we had lunch at this lovely winery; Shadowfax, also where my brother and sister-in-law got married. After our lunch we were sitting on a picnic rug and I totally ruined the surprise after a few wines by asking what he had hiding in his pocket. Whoops.”
Katherine and Josh did something special for their wedding rings. Katherine tells us, “We bought both our wedding rings together and I bought myself another ring as a remembrance of my grandparents who were unable to attend. I wear one ring everyday and the other ring on special occasions, it will become a family heirloom”
The wedding day was such a special day for both Katherine & Josh and they felt so blessed to share the day with all their family and friends. Katherine shares with us her memories of their special day. “It was the absolute best day, when my husband saw me in this dress, he wept. It was incredibly special and filled with love. We did it all together and it was everything we wanted it to be and more. It was so very us and I’m glad we did it our way. We had good food, nice drinks, best friends and family in a lovely venue, along with a gelato cart, photobooth and a live performer!”
Belle et Blanc bride ‘Katherine’ came into our bridal store and picked out the stunning custom ‘Regan’ wedding dress, a gorgeous princess gown in romantic flowing satin. Katherine tells us “ I ended up buying the first dress I tried on! I felt fabulous, it was so comfortable, yet I felt so glamorous and it was very me. Being a Change Manager, my job is demanding. The staff at Belle et Blanc fitted me in before the shop opened and at random times for fittings so that I could continue my career and wear the beautiful dress, thank you for doing that Belle et Blanc! For supporting me to be able to do both!”
We are so thankful to Katherine & Josh, and feel so honoured Katherine picked Belle et Blanc to be part of their day, and we absolutely love the photographs.
