Merry and Stefano
Merry and Stefano tied the knot on the 21st May 2022. They were married at Saint Anargiri Greek Orthodox Church, and had the reception at Vanilla Lounge, Oakleigh. Merry tells us, “Our event manager, Vicki was amazing and made sure everything ran smoothly.”
Stefano was nervous to propose to Merry, and the words just wouldn’t come out. Merry tells us,“Stefano took me out to celebrate my birthday. I knew he had bought the ring, but I didn’t know when he would propose. He made it seem like the ring wasn’t ready. So I didn’t expect anything on my birthday. As we were taking pictures of the beautiful view at the Sofitel, I turned around and he was down on one knee. The funny thing was that he was so nervous that he forgot to even pop the question and blurted out, “The answer you are looking for- is yes!” I laughed while reminding him that he hadn’t even asked the question! We ended the night by celebrating at Cecconi’s Flinders Lane Restaurant.”
The wedding day was such a wonderful day for both Merry and Stefano filled with family, love and joy. Merry tells us, “The wedding went great! Everyone warned us to expect little things to go wrong, but honestly, we thought that everything went pretty smoothly. We were especially thankful that we had fantastic sunshine that day, despite having our wedding in unpredictable May. We loved being surrounded by our loved ones and danced the night away with Greek dancing, food and laughter.”
Merry shares a funny story that happened during the wedding, which caused her a moment of panic, as it would for any bride. Merry tells us “We just finished the ceremony, and I accidentally spilled some coffee on my wedding gown, while I was holding it in the car. I had a small panic attack and instantly called my bridesmaids who were nearby at a cafe. They rushed down to rescue me. They thought I had spilled a big stain and panicked with the groomsmen, but as soon as they saw it, they realised it was only four small drops of coffee. I made it seem dramatic!”
Belle et Blanc bride ‘Merry’ came into our bridal store and picked out the stunning ‘Avery’ wedding dress, a gorgeous fit and flare v-neck gown in champagne with beautiful lace work and a detachable cape. Merry tells us, “I loved the design of Belle et Blanc’s lace wedding gown and I usually would have gone for the princess look, but I’m glad I chose a gown that flattered my curves, I felt like a “woman!” Special thanks to the encouragement from Belle et Blanc and my sister and mother-in-law who made me realise that I needed to embrace my curves.”
We are so thankful to Merry and Stefano, and feel so honoured Merry picked Belle et Blanc to be part of their day, and we absolutely love the photographs.
