Vihagi & Nimna

Vihagi & Nimna tied the knot on the 6th December 2024 in Melbourne and on the 28th December in Sri Lanka.

Vihagi had originally met her now husband, Nimna, when she was 16 on holidays with her family to Sri Lanka. They met at a joint family getaway and was told that both dads had gone to High School together. They however did not start dating until they were 19 . Vihagi went through two years of long-distance before Nimna surprised her by arriving on her doorstep in Melbourne. A while later they decided to go back to Sri Lanka for a holiday and Nimna decided to propose to her.  It was absolutely beautiful! There was a candle-lit pathway and rose petals in the shape of a heart.  She could not have imagined a more perfect way to propose.

We asked how Vihagi felt in her gown from Belle et Blanc ” There are not enough words in a dictionary to describe how I felt in my wedding dress. Putting it on for the first time just felt like there were fireworks going off behind me. As soon as I hopped into my dress, it was like all the stress and anxiety associated with planning my wedding just floated away. I really did feel like the princess I wanted to be when I was 5 years old”
“My vision for my wedding theme was timeless, old Hollywood and vintage glam. I knew I wanted a mermaid style dress but I was also torn with wanting that princess ballgown look. So I decided to combine the two and have a mermaid dress with a detachable overskirt. During my first visit, I had picked a dress that looked similar to my vision. On my second visit, Olivia and Donna really paid attention to what I was looking for and showed me a new dress that had come to the store that they believed would wow me, and it did! It was better than the picture I had made in my head. I decided to attach an overskirt to the dress and it was beyond perfect. After every appointment, I would always leave the store with the biggest smile on my face. I felt very comfortable at each appointment and Donna and Olivia spoke to me in such a way that made me completely trust their expertise and abilities. Although my wedding is over, I’m tempted to just go back to the store and try on my dress again on the pedestal with the incredible lighting!”
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day? “The most memorable thing during our wedding was our first look and our vows. The two years leading up to the wedding my husband kept saying he wasn’t going to cry when he first sees me in my wedding dress. I knew that he would, and he balled his eye out the minute he saw me (it was so precious)! Our vows were absolutely beautiful and I’m happy we had the time to privately do this (even our videographer shed a tear)”
