Mel and Mark tied the knot on the 1st of September 2023 at the picturesque Lochnagar, Otago in beautiful Queenstown in New Zealand, followed by the reception at Aroha on Florence. The entire wedding was planned by a wonderful team of Queenstown based wedding planners, who love adventure. Mountain Weddings specialise in gorgeous mountain top elopements, with helicopters as the main mode of transport. It’s an epic way to say I Do!
Mel did not know that Mark was going to propose to her after being together for six years. Mel tells us, “We had been together so long, I had definitely not been expecting Mark to propose. It was Christmas 2021, and Mark asked what I wanted for Christmas the year, and without hesitation I said, “Just you” and that’s exactly what I got, Mark proposed to me, then and there!
Belle et Blanc bride ‘Mel’ came into our bridal store and picked out the stunning ‘Liana’ wedding dress, a gorgeous fit and flare gown, with delicate tones of beige and an overlay of ivory beaded appliqué lace. Mel tells us, “I visited about fifteen different shops looking for my dress. I didn’t like any I tried on, until I went to Belle et Blanc and found my dress! Donna, my bridal consultant was incredible, she was so fun and friendly, I loved my gown and my experience with Belle et Blanc.” Mel also customised her Doc Martin shoes, to purple glitter, to match her hair on the wedding day, for a fun, creative touch!

The wedding day for Mel and Mark was such a wonderful day, accompanied by their closest family who joined them in beautiful Queenstown New Zealand. Mel tells us, “Our wedding day was everything we could have imagined and more, and to get married in New Zealand surrounded by our family and the beautiful scenery was just magical.”
