Belinda & Joey

Belinda and Joey tied the knot on the 16th May 2021 at Saint Aphrem Syrian Orthodox Church and had their reception at the picturesque Lakeside Banquet and Convention Centre, a premier wedding event specialist in Melbourne’s North West and a family run business now in its third generation.

We love hearing about proposal stories and Belinda shares how Joey went to great lengths, making the proposal a memorable one. Belinda tells us, “

Joey told me we were going to his ‘work Christmas party.’ I was excited because partners usually don’t attend, so I thought, “wow finally, I can meet all of his work friends.” As we entered the building, there was a security guard asking if we were here for the corporate Christmas Party, we both said yes and he said “no problem, right up these stairs, into the elevator.” I entered the elevator thinking I was attending a corporate Christmas party, and as I exited the elevator, all I could hear was mine and Joey’s song playing.. “Life by Conrad Sewell.” I took a step to the right thinking I’d still see all of Joey’s work friends; instead I saw a big neon sign that said “Marry Me.” We were at a rooftop bar in the heart of the city, overlooking a sunset; there were photos of Joey and I everywhere, flowers, candles and a giant Marry Me sign; our song was playing and a professional photographer started snapping my reaction! I immediately burst into tears and said yes! It was so special, how much effort Joey put into my proposal.

The wedding day was such a special day for both Belinda and Joey and they were so happy to be able to share the day with all their friends and family. Belinda tells us, “It was the best day ever” and one funny moment Belinda remembers is when she said “I will” instead of “I do” because she was so emotional, it was captured on the video and the whole church laughed.

wedding dress. Belinda tells us, “ I was walking down Sydney Road and we stumbled upon this beautifully presented boutique. My Mum spotted my dream dress in the window and immediately I knew I had to try it.” Belinda continues, “I tried the Sandy gown on and I’m so glad I did, as it became my wedding dress, the staff were amazing and made everything so easy and smooth. I felt like a princess in my dress, I knew it was the one. The more I tried it on, the more happy it made me. I didn’t want to take it off.”

We are so thankful to Belinda and Joey, and feel so honoured Belinda picked Belle et Blanc to be part of their day, and we absolutely love the photographs.
