Joanne & Dejan
Joanne and Dejan tied the knot on the 4th March 2023 at the iconic Leonda by the Yarra, one of Melbourne’s most acclaimed venues based in the beautiful suburb of Hawthorn.
Joanne shares with us how Dejan proposed to her, on a romantic birthday getaway to the Gold Coast. Joanne tells us, “Dejan had organised a ‘whale watching’ activity and I thought nothing of it. When we arrived, there was a small charter boat with a cute setup of a rug and cheese board. I asked the captain if we were likely to see any whales and he said, it was more likely we would see dolphins. We set sail and just before the sun set, Dejan mentioned her had requested a song, I thought to myself why would he do that, and then it clicked in my mind, Dejan asked me to look to my left, and down a sail, were the words; ‘Will you marry me?” I was in awe!”
Belle et Blanc bride ‘Joanne’ came into our bridal store and picked out the stunning ‘Liana’ wedding dress, a gorgeous fit and flare gown, with intricate textured hand beading and lace. Joanne tells us, “Belle et Blanc was the first bridal store I visited, and when I tried on the Liana gown, it just felt like me. The gown was romantic and sexy, which is more of who I am. I came back for a second appointment with my Mum and Mother-in-law, and I actually forgot what the gown looked like on, as I had gone to other bridal stores and tried on other gowns, but nothing felt right. As soon as I tried it on again, I knew it, that was it! It suited me and my personality.”
The wedding day for Joanne and Dejan was such a wonderful day, accompanied with their nearest and dearest friends and family, filled with memories they will cherish together. Joanne tells us, “The stress is real on the wedding day, but when I walked down the aisle and did look at my now husband for the first time, it all went away. All the emotion came flooding through and there isn’t anything more important than the two of us, together.”
