Kate & Anish

Kate and Anish tied the knot on the 20th August 2022 at beautiful Nathania Springs Receptions in Monbulk. The location is on a historic property dating back to the 1890s and was one of the first properties settled on Dandenong Ranges. Nathania Springs is located just one hour from Melbourne’s CBD, set amongst acres of botanic, flood lit gardens & magical Dandenong Ranges forest.

Kate shares with us how Anish took her completely by surprise when he proposed to her, “Anish made a whole day of activities and things we enjoyed doing. He’d tricked me into thinking he didn’t want to get married, so I didn’t suspect anything. We went to the gardens and completed 36 questions to fall in love. Then in the evening he set up a paint and sip, and a lovely platter with wine, and we painted books together. Near the end he suggested we write titles on the books and then reveal what each other had done. I painted Harry potter and the bible, while he wrote “will you marry me Kate” on the spine of his books. I was pretty surprised so asked him if he was being stupid. He then pulled out a beautiful ring, and I said, Yes!”

Belle et Blanc bride ‘Kate’ came into our bridal store and picked out the stunning ‘Rika’ wedding dress, a gorgeous fit and flare, off-the-shoulder wedding gown in luxurious satin. Kate tells us, “I found Belle et Blanc very personable and helpful. Instead of me picking out gowns, Donna my consultant and wedding dress designer, grabbed a few dresses she thought would really suit me, and she did very well. I tried on three and loved two of them, and then I had to decide. The Rika gown complimented my figure and was the classic look I was hoping for. It made me feel very elegant.”

The wedding day for Kate and Anish was such a wonderful day, accompanied with their nearest and dearest friends and family, filled with memories they will cherish together. They had a tradition Indian ceremony, Kate had henna applied to her hands, and the designs represent the strong love shared by the couple. A Mandap, a four-pillared canopy, was used to conduct the traditional Indian ceremony and instead of exchanging wedding bands, Hindu brides and grooms have mangalsutras tied around their necks. The mangalsutra is a double-pendant necklace of gold. The necklace is tied by the groom in three knots, representing a strong commitment that will last a century. They had a second ceremony ceremony where Kate wore her beautiful Rika gown.

We are so thankful to Kate and Anish, and feel so honoured Kate picked Belle et Blanc to be part of their day, and we absolutely love the photographs.
