Murphy & John

Murphy and John tied the knot on the 9th December 2021 at Potters Receptions in Warrandyte. Located just 20 minutes from Melbourne at the gateway to the Yarra Valley, it’s the perfect location to hold your wedding reception and nothing has been overlooked to make your day as special and as carefree as possible.

Murphy shares with us how John took her by surprise when he proposed to her. “John is a musician, he’d booked a gig on Valentine’s Day and I was a little upset that we weren’t able to celebrate Valentine’s Day and a night away from the kids, but he convinced me to come along anyway. When I got there I saw that there was a photographer and a videographer, he told me they were filming a live music video and I thought absolutely nothing of it. At the end of the set he had me come up to the front of the stage and in the bridge of the song he’d written just for me, he reached up above him to a beam in the roof and jumped offstage to propose; I was shocked! I don’t think I actually even said yes. It turns out that the whole gig had been booked specifically for the proposal, he’d even invited my family and friends to celebrate.
The best part was that we got some beautiful photos and a video of the proposal so that we can rewatch the beautiful moment whenever we like!”

Belle et Blanc bride ‘Murphy’ came into our bridal store and picked out the stunning ‘Alexia’ wedding dress, a gorgeous fit and flare, strapless bridal gown in beautiful antique lace which Murphy helped to customise herself. Murphy tells us, “ The whole team at Belle et Blanc were absolutely incredible! I definitely gave them a challenge! I tried on Alexia and absolutely fell in love with the unique beadwork, but the neckline and silhouette weren’t my style. The ladies at Belle et Blanc were determined to make my dream dress, and together we customised the design to suite my vision. The end result was better than I could have imagined.”

Murphy tells us how she felt on her wedding day in her dream gown, “I felt like a goddess! I got so many compliments on my wedding day, everyone said my dress was a classic look with the perfect touch of uniqueness. Our daughter signed our marriage certificate with us, my husband was in a tuxedo and my hair in Hollywood waves, we felt so glamorous!”

The wedding day for Murphy and John was such a wonderful day accompanied, with their nearest and dearest friends and family, filled with memories they will cherish together, made all the more special because their two children could share the day with them. Murphy tells us, “At the end of the night I sat on the edge of the bathtub and soaked my feet while my husband sat with me and we ate wedding cake and drank champagne, it was such a perfect day to finish the day.”
