Vivian & Matthew
Vivian and Matthew tied the knot on the 26th March 2023 at the scenic Marnong Estate. The estate has over 1,200 acres and provides breath taking views of Macedon Ranges and has an abundance of locations to host your ceremony and create a unique reception that will fulfil your wedding day dreams.
Vivian tells us how she met Matthew, and how he came to propose, ” We met back in 2015 when I was completing an internship at the Essendon Football Club, my mentor had told me that Matt was the go-to guy for whatever you wanted as he was in the operations team. I guess I may have taken that too literally and asked for a husband… that’s where it all started! Matt proposed to me on an extremely hot day in Melbourne on 30th December 2021. He had organised to have dinner at a fancy restaurant in the city, but we rarely go to the city so that was odd. He was also wearing long pants on a 40-degree day (and he never wears long pants) which made it doubly odd! Under the guise of saying ‘I’ve got a rock in my shoe’, instead, he got on one knee and removed a more romantic stone from its hiding place in his sock and proposed! Luckily, even though I initially took 3 steps backwards and asked him what he was doing, I ended up saying Yes!”
Belle et Blanc bride ‘Vivian’ came into our bridal store and picked out the stunning ‘Marilyn’ wedding dress, a gorgeous princess gown in shimmering sequined champagne. Vivian tells us, “My family and I were dress shopping on Sydney Road one day and as we were walking to get a coffee, we saw Belle et Blanc with the Marilyn gown in the window, we were instantly drawn to it, and had to go into the shop! I felt like a princess, it gave me the glam feeling that I have been drawn to and loved. The dress let me feel young, yet mature and classy at the same time. I loved that the dress had a wedding gown cut but was unique because of the champagne, sparkle material. It let me move away from the traditional white and lacey wedding dresses.”
Vivan shares how she found the fitting process with us at Belle et Blanc, “The Marilyn gown was on display in the window of Belle et Blanc the day I visited, I took it as a sign that I was meant to see it, try it on and buy it! Belle et Blanc was the 8th dress shop I’d been to, and I had tried on over 20 dresses prior to the Marilyn gown. I’d started doubting everyone who told me ‘you will instantly know if the dress is the one’, but when I put on the Marilyn gown, there was no doubt this was the one for me! I am especially thankful for Sara at Belle et Blanc that day who assisted me even though I did not have a booking, she squeezed me in and was assisting myself and another bride at the same time, her flexibility, adaptability, kindness and patience made the experience thoroughly enjoyable and I couldn’t have asked for more. I also particularly loved that Sara and Amelia at Belle Et Blanc, never once pressured me into buying the dress. The first time I tried on the dress, they had let me keep it on for as long as I wanted, and even then encouraged me to go home, sleep on it and then make a decision. Donna was my dress fitter and completed my alterations, and was also incredibly accommodating with all my changes and made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. Anna and the team were always approachable and responded to me in a timely manner, which meant that I knew my dress was one thing I never had to worry about.”
The wedding day for Vivian and Matthew was such a wonderful day, accompanied with their nearest and dearest friends and family, filled with memories they will cherish together. Vivian tells us, “We were so worried that it was going to rain that we initially planned everything all be in one area only, we are so glad the weather held off, and it literally started raining at 12:01AM the next day!”
